When & what items do I need to get ready for first baby?

Hello Mummies & Mummies-to-be, Currently expecting at 16 weeks and am wondering what items do I need to prep before the EDD draws closer? Also what are the important things that are necessary to buy as well. I still feel that is very early to be purchasing things. Would like some recommendations for breast pumps as well! Fun fact my first born breast pump is from Philip Avent and my second born breast pump from Shopee. I choose what suits me best and comfortability. I prep at 36 weeks for both pregnancy. I had my checklist like things to purchase, my hospital bag, baby's necessities. Hospital Bag : - Toiletries - Towel (in case you don't like hospital towel) - Sweater/Cardigan - Small/Support pillow - Power Bank - Home clothes (my own) - Home clothes (baby's like swaddle, mittens, sleepsuit/rompers/caps) - Disposable undies/pad (will be provided in the hospital) Baby's prep : - Baby cot with bassinet - Pillow/Bolster/Blanket (up to you) - Diaper changing mat - Diaper - Wipes - Diaper rash cream - Moisturiser / Lotion - Cotton wool/bud - Baby rocker - Baby tub - Toiletries - Baby balm/oil - Medical needs (thermometer,etc) - Sleepsuit - Summer rompers - Short sleeve rompers - Mittens/Booties/Caps - Swaddle - Milk Bottle - Pacifier - Hot/Warm water flask - Sterilizer - Milk warmer - Milk powder holder Other than ill add on along the way when needed. I will omit whats not important too.

Antenatal diagnosis centre

hi! Im a fist time mum and i have appt at antenatal diagnosis centre ADCWI and at the same day later i have appt with my gynae.. anyone knows what will they do? Having anxiety thinking what will they do. Any test? I will be 20 weeks by then.. Thanks!

ADC - to check on your baby's progress like ht, wt, amniotic fluid, spine, heart, kidney, etc and gender. After which, dr's consultation for result and explanation or whatever QnA you have you may consult with dr upon consultation. Also if there's any result that's off or you require to return back for another check, they will let you know too.

Umbilical cord on 3d scan

Hi all, my gynae happened to do a 3d scan/pic of the baby at 18 weeks and theres a black shadow near the center of belly, but more to the side, and gynae said it is the umbilical cord. By any chance does your 3d pic has it too? Thanks!

Feeling depressed. No emotional support.

I’m currently 12+2. I suffered from hyperemesis gravidarum with severe vomiting since I’m 5 weeks. I’ve been in and out the hospital for my condition and I can stay up to 1 week in hospital. Until now, my nausea n vomiting are still very bad. And I’m Im feeling super sick and weak. I cried many times and don’t know how to continue with my pregnancy. I feel so depressed. I feel there’s no one can understand what I’m going through and how bad I feel. Even my husband. I cried many times in front of him and telling him I’m depressed, I want to give up. He ask me not to. But nothing else was done. Although he brought me in and out of the hospital, I don’t feel him there for me when I need someone. He may be too used to my vomiting. Whenever I vomit, he will never come to me to pat on me or ask if I need any help. If I vomit in front of him, I can see his expression feeling gross or disgusted. There’s many times where I vomit so badly till I choked and I can’t even breathe. No one was there. Be it I’m in the toilet or I’m just vomiting beside him, he will ignore and do his own things. All he will say is if I can’t take it, just go hospital. Just now when I was vomiting so badly beside him, he did not came to offer any help. Not even passing me a tissue. He simply walk pass me and bring my son to the room and sleep together leaving me behind in the living room. I really don’t know how to continue. I’m all alone. I really feel like giving up. Can’t take it anymore.

I'm sorry to hear that you're having such a terrible time.. Would you consider aborting?

Stretching too much while sleeping during pregnancy

Hi mummies, 16 weeks pregnant here. I tend to stretch a lot while sleeping. Sometimes i dont realise im doing it. Will it harm the baby?

Not at all. No harm in doing body stretches while sleeping. As long as you are comfortable with the sleeping position after that.

Just saw a rep about pregnancy and zika and I am getting paranoid because I just got mozzie bite

Is Singapore safe from zika in general? I stay on 15th floor and rarely has mosquitoes at home but so happen I encounter 1 today in my room and didn’t wish to kill it but I got bitten 🙃 now I am scared if it could be zika 🙃🙃🙃

Just to share, I was never a mosquito target pre pregnancy whenever I’m around people with the same blood group. I became a mozzie magnet during pregnancy 🤡. So don’t worry too much! I got bitten so often that mosquito patches don’t work on me anymore.

Waiting time at KKH

Hi everyone! I went to NUH today for an appointment at 1045M and had to wait for 2 hours for the scan. Can anyone share the waiting time for kkh under subsidised route?

Waiting time at KKH is not very long as long as you are on time.
