For babies with a strong family history of food allergy po, foods with high allergic potential, such as fish, peanuts, tree nuts, dairy products, and eggs, should probably be avoided. You may introduce food po kay baby ng dahan dahan at paisa-isa – ideally may pagitan ng several days to take note of the reaction and food intolerances. Single-grain cereals (rice, oatmeal, barley) are recommended as starting cereals din po to help identify possible allergies.

hi, good morning po doktora. yung baby ko po ay 1 year & 2 months pero 7.6kg lang po siya. nitong mga nakaraang days po ay humihina po siya kumaen at pure bf pa din po siya.

My baby is already 15 months old but still not interested in solids. She's not interested in food. After being fed 2 spoonful, she doesn't want any more. is it normal?

Same here Mommy, since he turned 1 ayaw na niya kumain kahit puree which he used to love it nmn before. Now that he's 1 yr & 1 mo., milk pa rin kami. Around 30-35 oz a day nauubos niya, okay lng kaya ito? 😭

Hi Dra. another question is, I noticed most pedias are recommending to tranistion to fresh milk (from formula) na sa mga toddlers. isn't it too early for that?

Hi Hazel! Usually better po ang formula milk than fresh milk as milk-based formulas usually have incorporated more nutrients needed by your baby. Parents should use only iron-fortified formula unless advised otherwise by the primary health care provider. Infant formula manufacturers have begun to examine din po kasi the benefits of adding a variety of nutrients and biological factors to infant formula to mimic the composition and quality of breast milk. These include long-chain polyunsaturated fatty acids, nucleotides, prebiotics, and probiotics. But of course, depending po on your pedia baka po may certain considerations po sya kaya po nirerecommend nya ang fresh milk. So better ask din po your pedia for individualized care.

Hi Doc, ask lang po yungbaby ko po kasi madalas magsuka after breastfeed po worried lang po ako, normal lng po ba to? 1 month old palng po c Lo ko

hello doc! Magbabago po ba talaga yung poop ni baby pag mas marami ng solids? Bakit yung anak ko po (18 mos) constipated minsan 4 days di pa po nagpoop.

Hi po  Constipation is a common problem in childhood which is largely affected po by the type of diet, physical activity and age of the baby. First off, let’s define constipation – we usually define it as s two or fewer stools per week or passage of hard, pellet-like stools for at least 2 weeks. In the case of your baby, it is quite common among his age to have what we call, “Functional constipation”. This commonly occurs during toilet training, when the child is unwilling to defecate on the toilet. Retained stool becomes harder and larger over time, leading to painful defecation. This aggravates voluntary withholding of stool, with perpetuation of the constipation. It might help po to ask the child to sit on the toilet for a few minutes on awakening in the morning and immediately after meals, when the colon is most active and it is easiest to pass a stool. But if this doesn’t improve constipation, advising consult with your pedia for possible soft softeners and further assessment an
