A good doctor of any gender works fine as long as they offer the service you need. I had an abortion with Dr Jen Shek Wei in Singapore, and he was really professional and respectful about everything, even though he’s a male gynae. If you’re asking because you just want someone experienced and respectful, I’d still recommend him even though he’s not a female doctor. Other gynaes who offer abortion services might be female too, so you could ask around at larger hospitals or clinics if that matters to you, but from my experience with Dr Jen, gender didn’t affect the quality of care.

I don't have a direct answer to your question but I would say that I'm sure this is something that you have thought long and hard about and your choice is totally respected. I bet that even asking this question was difficult. You need to do what's right for you. Whatever your choice is, please ignore anybody that tries to convince you to go down a path that's different from the one you've chosen.
