Am I overreacting?

Hi mummies, does your husband stay in the hospital with you throughout the entire day + sleepover after birth or only some times? As my husband mentioned that he will try to be in the hospital most of the time and will visit after he ends work. Is this normal or am i overreacting and feel that he doesnt prioritise me and the baby since i will be very vulnerable

For mine, as his job entitles him to PL, he stayed with me thru out till the last day of PL. I can understand where you’re coming from and your feelings are valid. Maybe try to talk to him again to see if can take the time off and accompany you thru out his PL? Some jobs do require them to go back so maybe compromise to going back for a few days but you will need him with you at the hospital for those 2 days.

Hi mummies! Do we start counting the confinement days from day of birth or when we are back home from the hospital? The minimum 28 days or 30 days?

From home, I did 44 days.

Will you be worried if your newborn baby is closer to the confinement nanny or too used to her?

I am worried that newborn will stick to nanny instead of me because my baby co sleep with her and was fed by nanny. Od nanny leaves, then my newborn will keep crying and not used to me caring.#advicepls #pleasehelp #firsttimemom

not worry at all cause I take care baby myself. nanny only help in Bath

Dr told me that cervix still high and tight during the last appt. I’m also experiencing frequent watery discharge like whole pad soaked by the next change - dr says it’s normal as long as not a gush of water trickling down your legs. I’m also having cramps and shooting pain pubic area every now and then. My butt feels sore/pressure too. Is bby gg down?#advicepls #anxiousmommy

Butt pressure n soreness could be your hips making way for baby as they move lower to get engaged n ready for birth, this will cause pelvic pain too. I did get increased discharge during last trimester, but it’s more thick n not as watery as you described. Then again everybody body is different. Cramps could be due to braxton hicks!

Epidural side effects?

I’m going for natural delivery with epidural. Will be due in about 2 weeks or so. But reading about the immediate side effects is making me think twice. Not so scared of the needle going into the spine part but more afraid of the immediate side effects like shivering and vomiting as mentioned by many mommies. Any mommies went through epidural without any shivering or vomiting at all? #FTM #pleasehelp

I had twice of epidural. No shivering or vomitting. Bottom down numb, slight ever, rashes that's all. This happened when the epidural inserted. After awhile it will be normal. However, some people will face a high temp of fever during this process.

Hi anyone do tubal ligation? What do u feel after having it? Any pain ? any discomfort ? I had my 4th caesarean recently together with the ligation. Im not sure if this pain im having is the wound or from the ligation..

Baby getting heavier - induce or not?

My baby is getting heavier week by week , gynae never suggest to induce. He say see next week when i hit 40 weeks how. Should i be worried? Bb weight at 3,2kg

My first was at 3.2kg. I only induced because there were no progress after giving a grace period of 1 week after EDD and at 3cm dilate. Therefore I decide to induce at 41 weeks. But the labour process was about 17 hr +/- Maybe you can see what's the process at 40 weeks.

Postpartum anxiety

Hi I am a first time mom and I am experiencing postpartum anxiety. I am worried I don't know how to take care of my newborn and I get flustered when she cries. There is a confinement nanny to help me but I am worried I can't cope by myself if I were to take care of baby alone at home. Taking care and bringing up a child is very new to me. Observe nanny’s way of handling, ask whatever you need to know before she leaves. Get your husband to be involved too so he can help out whenever he’s free. Things will be easier if there are two people at it. Newborn days they basically just sleep and more sleep. Few things they may cry are usually (milk, diapers, gas, needs soothing). After nanny leaves, it’s just the same routine. The hard part is not taking care of your newborn but managing the lack of sleep due to having to pump. I was once in your position, only thing is I don’t have a nanny so I have to learn everything on my own since day 1 which I find that it helps because that way I’m more hands-on. Trust yourself, if you need help and have the help available, use it. Don’t think about things that have yet to happen, don’t overthink (it will only stress you out), take one step at a time. I cried when my confinement is ending because that means my husband won’t be around and it’s just me, turns out, it’s actually not as bad as I thought. Overtime you’ll be able to understand your baby’s cries/cues and schedules, it will get easier and better. 😊
