What do babies learn at infant care?

Does infant care 'auto promote" your kids to playgroup level when they reached 18 months or you have to find another playgroup at another centre again?

Auto promote, then N1 & so on. The school will prioritise in house kids before offering others (those that did not join IFC at their school).

How is spinal anaesthesia C sect like? Can anyone share your experience(s)?

Going for C Sect next week and I am very nervous about the surgery. How does it feel to have spinal anaesthesia (bottom torso numbed) and side effects. Can you share your C sect experience with me? #advicepls #FTM #pleasehelp

Spotting week 39

Yesterday i was worried that will be induced or bb wont come out until week 40. This morning i got brown and blood spotting, i guess the time has came! 🤣 When to go to hospital? My gynae say once i spotting i should go already but some mummies say that wait until contraction become stronger?

Hi just curious, did u go to the hospital? Or did u wait for stronger contraction?

B2 or C ward for foreigner @kkh

I am a foreigner and would be delivering in KKH . I want to save money as we are bearing all costs without any subsidy. So was looking for some helpful input as I should go for B2 or C ward. Till now pregnancy is completely normal but don't know what happens ahead. I am fine with sharing a room and any doctor for delivery.What all items I need to carry for B2 or C ward .

Hi mummies Any of you DID NOT send your infant to infant care centre ?

Because you or your parents can take care of baby ? If don't send baby to Infantcare, will the baby lose out in terms of socialising and learning new skills? What does a baby learn in IFC? Please share your experiences 🙏 Much appreciated to hear your views please 🙏#firsttimemom #advicepls

i didn’t send until 18months old. don’t expect baby to learn much in ifc.. even Playgroup age is just to play and socialize. but it does make transition to future schooling easier. else the difference is minimal and they still can catch up.

[Help Please!] Feed on demand or follow baby schedule?

My girl is 1 month old. She is 5kg and drinks FM 110ml currently. Every 2 to 3 hours. Confinement nanny says we must feed her on schedule(every 3 hours) so we don't over feed her. But the thing is she cries and fusses every 1 and a half to 2 hours demanding to be fed. Should I increase the volume of FM or just follow nanny advice and let my baby wait for 3 hours to be fed? Baby is growing , pooping every 2 to 3 days. Please help me. I am at my wit's end as I am a FTM and find it hard to soothe baby. 😔 #advicepls #firsttimemom #pleasehelp

I feed on demand (baby will cry for milk every 1.5-2 hourly).

Hi mummies, anyone diagnosed with endometritis (different from endometriosis) after giving birth? I'm feeling pain inside when I pass gas, urine and motion. Urine test also shows I have an infection.

Me! The hard part is overcoming the lack of sleep due to pumping. You’ll get frustrated and annoyed (a crying baby) easily when you don’t have enough sleep. Once your body got used to the frequent waking and sleeping lesser, it will get better. My baby is generally quite easy to manage (thank god). She just sleeps, drinks, pee poop. Occasionally needs someone to entertain her. (NB days - 4mo) The routine is pretty much the same daily, just add age related activities as they grow. It gets way easier for me when I started to stretch my pump sessions (5-6hrly, 12hrly) because I can finally rest well. LO is currently 20mo and I stop pumping at 18mo and have been able to sleep for 12 hours daily ☺️. LO haven’t attend school yet so for now, the hard part is finding stuffs to keep her entertained. The rest are generally quite easy to handle.

all of the above. smaller but not much smaller because the uterus takes 9 months to inflate, so it needs time to deflate too. you will definitely be sleep deprived with constant milk feeds.

First time mom and feeling overwhelmed

I just gave birth and I feel stressed about taking care of a newborn alone when my hubby went back to work. I really don't know what to do if the baby cries, or feels sick or other things that might happen. I have attended a talk on how to do basic care for a baby but I still feel not so confident. My friends who have kids told me I will learn along the way and get used to the routine of taking care of a newborn and maternal instincts will kick in. But I am not so sure and feeling worried that I can't give the best care to my newborn baby. Please help 😭#FTM #advicepls #firstbaby #pleasehelp

FTM here too. My lil one is 9 days old and I share the same worries as you. Feeling anxioud and stressed that I cannot cope when the nanny leaves and when the husband return to work. all i am telling myself is to take one step at a time. so that my worries dont overwhelmed me.. we are all new at this and just doing our best for our lil one press on. you are not alone.
