Backache at week 40

Hi mummies, I'm at my week 40+2 now and having backaches while walking, showering and even sitting down. Wonder is it a sign of labour? I have no commonly known labour symptoms yet. #FTM

Hello mommy, it doesn’t seem so because it might be from the weight of your bump since you are at week 40 now. However, please continue to monitor and check for other symptoms.

I went labour rm 38w2d with little contractions, doc says i was only 2cm. Request to go hm.

Been 2 days at hm and no signs anymore. Is it normal?

its normal. sometimes waiting time 1 week. as long waterbag is good

Spitting out milk

Hii mummies, im currently mix feeding my newborn after feeding she will spit out abit of milk. Just wanted to see if this is normal? 😣

Yes it’s normal. My newborn will spit out a bit of milk even after burping him.

breast massage and hand expressing

would like to check if we should pull and squeeze the nipples during breast massage / to hand express effectively? I've read articles to say it should be gentle pulling but LC in hospital also just squeeze nipples for milk to come out prior to feed and masseuse also does that to release milk I'm a bit confused cos what LC and masseuse did is painful but it really help to release milk and even to the extend of squirting. context: I do have over supply, and usually have engorgement issues. I haven't been very successful at hand expressing as I feel pain to do that on myself and milk only comes out in drops. so am pumping most of the time and latch sometimes.

Hello! This is from what I have learnt from nurses and lactation consultant, and found effective for myself~ I was taught that hand expression isn't really about squeezing the nipple itself - you need to go further back into the wider breast area instead. Placing your hand in a c -or u-shape hold right outside the areola, push inwards towards your chest, before you apply a gentle roll/squeeze. I found that this was a lot less painful than squeezing the nipple tip itself and also helped to stop my engorgement issues (also an oversupplier 🙋‍♀️) as it was removing milk from the deeper tissues effectively 👌 Not sure if I explained properly haha but if it helps, you can search how to hand express on TikTok and there are a lot of video tutorials :)

I am at 38weeks today. Any vbac mums out there can advise?

Hi.. anyone has gone through vbac after 2 csect? Docs are against it due to risk,etc. Well, to me, surgery has risk too! So m trying my best to have a vbac. I have postponed my surgery to a slughtly later date. My last csect was 2.5yrs ago. Anyone can advise or share experience?

I had a successful vbac and a smooth delivery on Jun 3! I've gone through 1 csec due to breech baby. what was your reason for the past 2 csec? I guess overall 2 main things to monitor during labour; 1 is fetal heartbeat 2 is risk of scar rapture if you do feel any pain on your csec scar be sure to let your gyne know.
