Hi Mummies, would like to know your experience in giving birth at NUH under subsidised ward.

I give birth my first at NUH, under subsidy in 2018. So far so good from PN to induce day as well as during birth. On duty doctor and nurse did very well, I took jab, gas and epidural. They did explain all the process to you, advicing you to take what they think you should in order to have smooth process. Along the way if natural doesn't work, they will ask what option you want like forceps, vacuum or c section. When I use epidural, I had a little test/rehearsal (yes, anesthetic teach me) I was quite long in the labour ward and baby's head was huge therefore, I told them what I wanted and baby was out after more than 12 hrs in labour. Stitches was good and neat, aftercare process was also advice properly. Next day, the doctor came to also check on your vaginal area to see if it is swollen, if stitches okay and what can be done to reduce swell. All in all satisfactory 100%. But, this is my experience therefore it may depend on luck, experience and what you face during your own situation in labour 😊
